🛕 Vada Badrakaliamman Temple is located in the heart of the Mecheri Town in Salem District. This Temple was built about 800 years ago by the local kings. Mecheri is surrounded by the lake and beautiful green meadows. It is also surrounded by south vallattu nadu and thoppaiyam. Mecheri is famous for “Mecheri special sheep” and Vada Badrakaliamman Temple.
🛕 The temple is facing north and situated in south – east direction in the heart of Mecheri town nearby Salem – Dharmapuri highway. There are wide corridors and mandapams surrounding the temple. Rajagopuram is main entrance to the temple. Besides this, there are three Rajagopurams in three directions.
🛕 Mecheri is one of the holy sites where the omnipotent goddess in the form of “Vada Badrakali” is showering her blessings to the universe. The temple has wide corridors and mandapams surrounding the temple. Rajagopuram is main entrance to the temple facing north.
🛕 Temple is situated in south-east direction in the heart of Mecheri town along Salem and Dharmapuri highway on either side. Besides this, there are three Rajagopurams in other three directions.
🛕 It is auspicious for the devotees to have Dharsan on new moon days. It is a belief that Mecheri Bhadra Kaliyamman will fulfill the wishes of the devotees. So more than 50 thousand devotees throng to and congregate in the temple and worship the deity.
🛕 This temple remains opened every day from 05:30 A.M to 08:00 P.M without any break of time.
There are two-times pooja in this temple.
The morning pooja is conducted at 05:30 A.M to 07:30 A.M.
The evening pooja is conducted at 05:30 P.M to 06:30 P.M.
Note: There is no Oonjal Urchavam in the month of Chitrai & Masi.
🛕 Special pooja is performed and the deity adorned every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday and on full moon and new moon days. On the above days multitude of devotees throng the temple to fulfill their vows and to make their offerings, from dawn to dusk.
🛕 Especially if the devotees have Dharsan on new moon days Mecheri Bhadra Kaliyamman will fulfill the wishes of the devotees. So more than 50 thousand devotees throng to and congregate in the temple and worship the deity.
🛕 Honourable Chief Minister’s Annadhanam Scheme has been commenced since 15.08.2002 date. Annadhanam is provided daily at 12.15 Noon. Annadhanam hall is equipped with stainless steel bench & Tables, Selling fan, RO Water for the benefit of the devotees.
🛕 Every day minimum 125 devotes are served and Every Friday minimum 150 devotes are served and every month Ammavasai Day 200 devotes are served.

Rs.4000/- for Ammavasai Day
Rs.20000/- for providing Annadhanam on any particular day in the year
🛕 he Temple have 8 (Eight) Rooms for the devotees to stay. These rooms are fully facilitated with attached Bathrooms and they are properly maintained by the authorities.

🛕 Mecheri lies on State Highway 20, which is Bhavani – Thoppur connection, Thoppur is 20 km from Mecheri, Which further leads to Dharmapuri Via National Highway -44 (National Highway 7 (India)(old numbering)) (major North – south connection from Kashmir – Kanyakumari). Bhavani is 60 km away, which connects to Erode and Coimbatore via NH-47.
🛕 Another MDR (Major District Road) from Mecheri is Destine to Omalur (20 km away) to reach Salem, after Omalur it will join with NH-44 till Salem city. Direct Bus facilities are available at every 5 Mins to Salem and Mettur (To and Fro) and 10 mins to Dharmapuri and erode to and fro during day time.
🛕 Road network connectivity is properly linked from Mecheri to all villages/towns in and around, government and private buses are also plying between all nearby town like Pennagaram, Tharamangalam, Nangavalli, Jalakandapuram, Thoppur, Vellar etc., and across major village settlements from Mecheri.

🛕 Rail connectivity is available at a distance of 4 km from Mecheri town at Mecheri road railway station, which is in the Salem–Mettur Dam railway division. Trains starting from Mettur are en route to Salem and Erode Junction. From Salem and Erode rail connectivity is available for the whole of India.
🛕 Link train facility is available to connect with the Chennai – Salem Superfast Express, which is a daily service to Chennai Egmore starting from Mettur Dam, similarly in the return direction.
